Those things specifically might not apply to a modded Minecraft launcher but they are just examples to show that Curse are happy to remove functionality.

Things such as download queues, update all buttons, and the option to auto update.

I also hate them because they are known to take basic functionality out of their clients to add to premium. Auto-playing video ads on a program that's in the taskbar shows a complete disdain for the people using the program, and this wasn't something that they tested for a week and decided it was bad, they kept it in the client for a decent chunk of time. Complaints for that are here, here, and here (so you know I am not making it up). These have happened while the client is idle in the taskbar, and trying to find them was awful. I hate Curse clients because in the past I have seen auto-playing video ads in the client. Will also delete on comment score of -1 or less. Parent commenter can toggle NSFW or delete. Interesting: Speex | CELT | History of Firefox Unlike Ogg Vorbis, Opus does not require the definition of large codebooks for each individual file, making it preferable to Vorbis for short clips of audio. Its delay is very low compared to well over 100 ms for popular music formats such as MP3, Ogg Vorbis and HE-AAC yet Opus performs very competitively with these formats in terms of quality per bitrate. Opus permits trading-off quality or bitrate to achieve an even smaller algorithmic delay, down to 5 ms. Opus has a very low algorithmic delay (26.5 ms by default), which is a necessity for use as part of a low audio latency communication link, which can permit natural conversation, networked music performances, or lip sync at live events. Opus can be adjusted seamlessly between high and low bitrates, and internally, it transitions between linear predictive coding at lower bitrates and transform coding at higher bitrates (as well as a hybrid for a short overlap). Opus incorporates technology from two other audio coding formats: the speech-oriented SILK and the low-latency CELT. All known software patents which cover Opus are licensed under royalty-free terms. As an open format standardized through RFC 6716, a reference implementation audio codec called opus-tools is available under the New BSD License. Opus is a lossy audio coding format developed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) that is particularly suitable for interactive real-time applications over the Internet. Even if it was just one thing, it was the best thing of its kind. Maybe I am just stuck in my ways or uninformed but I liked it when FTB had a literal beast to feed and there was passion and drive behind it. I am sorry this comment dissolved into a rant but I don't know what FTB does anymore. These things all exist but all from third parties. Maps to go with them if it can be managed. I want to see a lightweight pack, a beginners pack, and maybe even a questing pack. Overall its a still a sandbox with no direction or purpose.

Despite mod count, there is no real meat.

Now I am not saying those packs are bad but there isn't really anything special to them. Infinity is the general all-purpose pack from the FTB team' 'designed to give you a complete modded experience with something for everyone.'

Infinity and Resurrection are close enough that they may as well be targeted at the same people.
#Minecraft magic farm 3 mods#
FTB has 2 packs that are actually their choice of mods and not currently in alpha or beta.

I am going to break this down for a moment.
